Highlights

Since 2014 Nadia has performed in over 25 theatrical productions, many of them in leading roles. Between 2016 and 2019 she spent a lot of her time touring a selection of these shows across Russia and Serbia.

Some of her theatre highlights can be found here.

THE BEAUTY QUEEN OF LEENANE

This play follows the darkly comic tale of Maureen Folan, a plain and lonely woman in her early forties, and Mag her manipulative ageing mother whose interference in Maureen's first and potentially last loving relationship sets in motion a train of events that is as gothically funny as it is horrific. In this version of the play, Nadia makes Maureen not a grumpy spinster, but a thoughtful multi-layered woman who seeks not just marriage, but true love.

THE CHERRY ORCHARD

A family is torn by powerful forces deeply rooted in history and the society in which they live. Their estate is hopelessly in debt: urged to cut down their beautiful cherry orchard and sell the land for holiday cottages, they struggle to act decisively. In this adaption of Chekhov's classic play, Nadia’s Mm. Ranevskaya knows what is going to happen to her and yet still consciously follows her path.

A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE

In this classic production Nadia takes on one of theatre's most iconic heroines: Blanche DuBois. Tennessee Williams' classic drama studies the emotional disintegration of a Southern woman whose last chance for happiness is destroyed by her vindictive brother-in-law. While working on Blanche, Nadia was concentrating on the search of self-worth and love within her character.

LAMENTATION

A monoplay about three generations of women in one family: grandmother, mother and daughter (all played by Nadia) - all living their own struggles and not understanding each other. A Prozac addicted mother feels worthless facing the adultery of her husband and loss of her job. She tries to get her worth back by stealing a beautiful fur collar coat from a shop. A struggling teenage daughter is ready to give oral sex to get money for new fancy jeans which will make her schoolmates jealous.

Working on three different ages in one play Nadia used fast voice and body characteristics changing technique combined with strong psychological immersion.

THE STORM

The story of confrontation between Ekaterina (played by Nadia) and her mother in law. A struggling marriage, a forbidden love and betrayal. Ekaterina does things her way. From fighting for her marriage, to trying to make her husband choose their happiness over serving his mother, to meeting love outside of her marriage and risking everything by going for it, to making a difficult choice after her lover’s betrayal between living without love and committing suicide.

Nadia’s Ekaterina, usually played as a weak sweet heroine, is in contrary a self-sufficient and  strong woman who fights for her right to live the life she wants.

THE OVERCOAT

One of the most heart-breaking short-stories by Nikolai Gogol. Akaky Bashmachkin (played by Nadia) is an unnoticeable, pure, low-rank clerk, who sincerely loves his job (despite it being considered unimportant by others) and doesn’t strive for a career. Many laugh at his childlike qualities, as he is humble and simple. He spends all his money on making a new overcoat to survive a harsh winter. He likes the overcoat, it becomes like a lover to him. Being robbed of it he tries to find help and protection through the authorities and is severely humiliated. He is unable to stand such a hard attitude and he dies, coming back to the city as a spirit robbing pedestrians off their overcoats in the night.

When acting as Bashmachkin Nadia transforms herself completely physically, visually and vocally.

RUN FOR YOUR WIFE

This 1982 British comedy centres around John Smith, an "ordinary" London taxi driver who secretly has two wives in different parts of the city. When John inadvertently blows his own cover, the comic complications multiply. Nadia plays Barbara, a sexual mistress type character with her commanding charm, in this production directed by Kirill Zaborihin.

THE BROTHERS KARAMAZOV

A physical theatre production. The famous novel of Dostoevsky told without words, only with a body language. The passionate Karamazov brothers spring to life, led by their lecherous father, who entertains himself by drinking, womanising, and pitting his three sons against each other. The men have plenty to fight over, including the alluring Grushenka. In this Production, Nadia is portraying Mm. Khokhlakova - the most comical character in the play. Nadia portrays  Khokhlakova as a crazy, over controlling woman who is loving but also jealous of her daughter

ANTIGONE

A dramatic retelling of Jean Anouilh’s tragedy. The play is centred around Antigone, the younger sister of two dead brothers. She is challenged by Creon, her Nurse (Nadia), her sister and her groom to give up on her shamed brother and her memories with him. Militaristic attitude and soldier type behaviour create a dangerous charm in Nadia’s character.
